Uses
The Waterproof PVA by SikaBond is the ultimate, high-quality admixture that delivers exceptional bonding and sealing properties, enhancing water resistance and increasing adhesion. Compared to other waterproof PVA admixtures, the Waterproof PVA by SikaBond sits above the rest on the market because it is easy to use and, unlike normal PVA, will not re-emulsify when wet. Applications this product is typically applied in include;
- Excellent for renders or toughening floors and screeds
- Waterproofs PVA adhesive and admixture, which seals, primes, toughens and waterproofs
- Suitable for brickwork, mortar, render, screed and plaster.
Preparation
Ensure the application surface is sound, stable and free from contaminants that can interfere with this product, including dirt, dust, grease, oil, standing water, cracked or loose materials, etc.
Application
- Shake the bottle well before using
- Apply directly to the surface using a brush or roller
Alternatively;
- Pour it directly into a cement admixture
- The quantity for dilution depends on the surface porosity.
- Allow primer to dry before laying bonding coats (for non-absorbent surfaces, the sealer coat may be omitted)
- Apply the cement screed, render or plaster while the bonding coat is still tacky.
Limitations and Notes
- Do not apply this product below 10°C
- Do not use it on surface if rain is imminent, as it'll wash it off
