Uses
The Wood Preserver by SikaGard is an excellent, high-performance, fast-curing preserver for wood and timber, both internally and externally, with a unique pet and plant-safe formula. Sika's scientists brewed this product with fungicides and algaecides, which finely disperse, allowing deep penetration and, therefore, excellent effectiveness. Another feature is its ability to be applied to damp wood without performance issues, guaranteeing protection against wet rot, decay, dry rot, and organic growth. Applications this product has excellent in include;
- Perfect for interior and exterior use on rough-sawn or planed timber, including floorboards, roof timbers, joists and window and door frames.
Preparation
Before commencing the application, ensure the surface is clean and free from contaminants that can hinder this product's performance.
Application
- Shake the product thoroughly before use.
- Apply to the wood by spraying, brushing or dipping.
- Apply at least two coats to the surface if brushing or spraying, which should be applied after the first has dried.
- When dipping, you pay particular attention to ensure it's soaked, allowing it to set for at least 3 minutes for optimal results.
Limitations and Notes
- This product is ready to use; do not dilute it.
- Do not allow this product to make contact with bitumen, roofing felt or plastics.
- You can overcoat timber to reduce environmental impact.
- This product is not suitable for application to the surface where food is prepared.
