Uses

The Soudafoam Gun Gap Filler by Soudal is an exceptional polyurethane expanding foam with fantastic gap-filling and adhesive properties. It can expand to fill hard-to-reach areas, ensuring every crack and crevice is bridged. Its overall composite is freon-free, ensuring no harmful effects on the ozone layer or greenhouse effect. It's typically used in various applications but excels at installing windows and door frames, general cavity filling, sealing openings in roof construction, and using it for acoustic baffles and thermal isolation.

Preparation

All surfaces should be free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, etc. Any organic growth should be treated with a fungicide to remove all spores. It's good practice to use a stiff brush as well to remove any loose debris that may be present.

Application

  1. Shake the can thoroughly for at least 20 seconds
  2. Fit the gun adaptor to a suitable PU gun
  3. Moisten the surfaces you want to fill; this is to aid the curing process
  4. Spray and fill the hole up to 65%, then allow the expanding foam to build and fill the rest
  5. Whilst completing all of this, you should regularly shake the can to ensure it's consistently mixed

Limitations and Notes

  • It's essential to moisten the surface prior to application to ensure optimal results are achieved.
  • If the cavity is significantly large and requires two loads of filling, allow the first to cure and then moisten the surface, applying your second layer subsequently.
