Uses
The Soudal B1 Fire & Acoustic Expanding Foam Genius is an excellent expanding foam, ideal for various applications throughout a building. It's ideal for installing windows and door frames, general cavity filling and sealing openings in roof constructions. It improves thermal isolation in cooling systems and is an excellent versatile gap filler. It offers outstanding adhesion to all surfaces, excluding PE, PP and PTFE.
Preparation
Due to its excellent adhesion properties, minimal preparation is required. Using a stiff brush to remove small debris is good practice, focusing on cleaning any dust, grease and similar impurities. Afterwards, moisten the surfaces to improve the adhesion, and then you can proceed with the application.
Application
- Shake the aerosol for 20 seconds
- Open the cover and fold the tube horizontally
- Fill the cavity up to 1/3, allowing the foam to expand and fill the rest
- Repeat shaking the can regularly as you're applying
- If the cavity hasn't filled entirely and needs another application, allow it to cure and slightly moisten it
- Proceed to apply a second load of expanding foam
Limitations and Notes
- Do not apply this product if the temperature isn't between 5°C and 35°C
- Any cured foam can only be removed mechanically.
