Uses
The Soudaduct by Soudal is an acrylic polymer-based, plasto-elastic, solvent-free HVAC ducting sealant suitable for sealing every type of metal duct. It offers excellent adhesion on both galvanised and stainless steel, yet remains flexible and can even be painted once it is fully cured, allowing it to fit in with it's surroundings. It's suitable for joints with a movement max of 12.5% and achieves all requirements in DW144 standards and regulations.
Preparation
Before commencing the application, ensure that the surfaces involved in the application are free from dirt, dust, grease, oil, etc; after you've cleaned them, make sure the surface is bone dry.
Application
- Cut the top of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the threaded screw.
- Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle with an opening slightly larger than the gap to be filled.
- Place it into a suitable sealant applicator tool and apply the material to the surface.
- Smooth it down using a smoothing tool, putty knife, etc, to a smooth finish.
- Ensure that all gaps, cracks and areas of the duct system are sealed to ensure an airtight system.
Limitation and Notes
- Do not apply this product in areas subject to constant water immersion.
- This product is suitable for painting, but preliminary tests must be completed to ensure compatibility before finishing the full job.
- Allow the sealant to cure for 12-24 hours before using the air system.
- This product is not suitable for external use.
