This is due to its shape not damaging the wooden surface, ensuring no wood splitting, especially around the edges, and with most wood not requiring pre-drilled holes.
The screw head Pozi was crafted by GKN Screws and Fasteners in 1962 and, still to do this day, is one of the go-to choices for screwing applications. It's an evolution of the traditional Phillip screw head, with the Pozi able to withstand added torque alongside improved resistance to cam-out. Another feature includes eight radial slots, compared to the conventional Phillips, which only has four.
