Glazing bars are essential for polycarbonate sheeting. Since they’re the only thing that’s holding up your glass panes or polycarbonate panels, you’ll need to be as discriminating when it comes to glazing bar choice as you are to your choice of glazing in the first place. In addition, the right glazing bar can make a serious difference to the aesthetic appeal of your glazing.

At ERoofing, the primary glazing bars we sell are Clear Amber’s ALUKAP-SS and ALUKAP-XR ranges. Both can hold a wide variety of glazing, from Axiome polycarbonate sheets to AXGARD solid panels to panes of regular glass. In addition to the standard white and brown colours, these are also available in a huge variety of RAL shades achieved via powder coating. Both types of glazing bars are made of high-quality aluminium. They also work with a wide range of roof pitches.

ALUKAP-SS stands for self-support. This is because it’s a rafterless glazing system, using posts instead. This makes it perfect for free-standing structures like Lean-Tos and carports. It also makes ALUKAP-SS very quick and easy to install. ALUKAP-SS is available in both low profile and high span versions, depending on the needs of the roof in question. 

ALUKAP-XR is a more conventional glazing system. Its network of top caps and end caps minimize the level of glazing slipping to almost zero. On top of that it comes with special rafter gaskets that can help it be easily and efficiently installed. ALUKAP-XR is ideal for upgrading an existing glazing structure.
