Bond It is introducing the Bond It FG8 Food Grade Silicone sealer, which is perfect for being used in various areas that require sterilisation and constant cleaning. This filler creates waterproof seals, and joints and is used to seal machinery, ceramic tiles, kitchen fittings, walls, and floors and can even be used to seal around a deep freezer.
Other surfaces you can use this on include glass ceramics, stainless steel, paint, GRP, melamine laminates, refrigeration unites and chiller cabinets.
Application
Prepare all surfaces before application, do this by cleaning the area, ensuring it's free from dust, grease, oil and any other contaminants that can hinder adhesion. If the surface is porous, a metal besides stainless steel or anodised aluminium will require a primer applied first to optimise the adhesion.
Any previous filler can be removed using a Silicone Sealant Remover.
- Using a standard sealant gun, cut the nozzle at an angle of 45°, ensuring the opening is slightly larger than the joint gap.
- Apply the sealant and leave it to settle for two to three minutes.
- Tool down to make the finish professional by using a tool like a sealant applicator tool.
