Bond It Mega Stik PU Adhesive is a fast-curing adhesive foam, designed specifically to aid in the installation of plasterboard, insulation boards, floorboards and roof decking. It adheres well to most commonly used building materials such as: plaster, wood, metals, bituminous membranes and mineral wool and can even be used in place of backing rods in expansion joints and around window and door frames.
Preparation
Ensure to cover all surrounding surfaces with paper or plastic sheets to protect them from any drips of foam.
- The foam needs moisture to begin the curing process, mist the substrate with water prior to application
Application
When applying this product, make sure to wear gloves and eye protection at all times.
- If needed, warm the cans in some lukewarm water (not above 50°C) and shake for at least 30 seconds before fixing to the foam gun.
- Apply the beads to the substrate and leave for approx . 2 minutes before pressing into place. Hold board in place for around 1 minute until adhesive has began to cure.
- You should apply the boards in rows, starting from the bottom of the wall and working up to the top to avoid sliding.
Plastering can be done after 1 hour of application.
Limitations
- Cured foam is sensitive to direct sunlight and UV light so should be covered with an opaque sealant, filler, paint or other suitable material.
- Not recommended for use on polyethylene, silicone, oil and grease
