The Cementone Dustproofer & Hardener are crafted to be applied onto current or new concrete, offering extra benefits which include a longer-lasting life. Other features of this product are a reduction of dust on the surface, resistance to chemicals, oil, grease and abrasion and ease of cleaning and maintenance.
Preparation
If you have laid new concrete, depending on the time of year, you must allow about 14 days during the summer season or 28 days in the winter season for the concrete to cure fully. If the surface has cured fully, you will have to ensure the surface is sound, clean, dry and free from contaminants. Afterwards, the final step is just confirming the bare concrete surface, and if any coatings are present, they must be removed.
Mixing
Mix Ratios (By Volume) | Dustproofer & Hardener | Water |
---|---|---|
First Coat: | 1 Part | 2 Parts |
Second Coat: | 1 Part | 1 Part |
Third Coat: | 2 Parts | 1 Part |
Application
- Dilute the solution in accordance with the mixing chart above.
- Using a soft broom, spread the solution evenly across the floor.
- Apply between 2-3 coats, which depends on the surface's porosity.
- After 10 minutes, brush away the excess solution. Do not allow any pooling.
- After applying the final coat, wait 10 minutes, then hose away any excess solution. If you fail to remove the excess after the complete application, it will cause white deposits to form on the surface.
Cleaning
Cleaning your tools should be done immediately after the application using just water. If you do have white deposits showing on the surface, it's somewhat impossible to remove, and you can try a domestic lime-scale remove; this may help.
