Cromar Bitumen Primer – Black 2.5 Litre

Uses

The Bitumen Primer by Cromar is an excellent product that improves the adhesion of bitumen products onto a surface. It achieves this with its unique formula, crafted with a low-viscosity composite, penetrating deeply into the surface, sealing and priming it. Substrates that this product is ideal for includes;

• Concrete
• Asbestos Cement
• Mild Steel
• Zinc
• Lead
• Slate
• Lightweight concrete screeds

Preparation

Preparing the surface is vital to achieving optimal adhesion. Start by checking the surface, ensuring it's sound, stable and free from contaminants, including dirt, dust, grease, oil and organic growth. The best way to remove these is using a stiff brush; with the organic growth, using a fungicide is vital as it eradicates the spores, preventing them from returning. Any signs of rust need to be treated with a rust inhibitor.

Application

1. Use either an airless spray or a brush
2. Apply it to the surface evenly, ensuring no pooling or ponding occurs
3. This product will become resistant to rain within 20-30 minutes upon application

Limitations and Notes

• This product should not be applied at temperatures less than 5°C
• Preparing the surface is vital to ensure that optimal adhesion is achieved.
• You should not use this product if it's raining or if rainfall is imminent.
