Uses
The Cromaprufe by Cromar is a high-performance bituminous emulsion that is perfect for tackling unwanted dampness and water ingress that rises from the ground. Alongside tackling dampness, this product can be coated directly to mineral surfaces like concrete and brick, providing it with a waterproof membrane. What makes this product versatile and excellent is its final feature, which is its ability to adhere to wooden items, including block flooring and mosaics, as well as polystyrene and cork tiles. Finally, this product can be used to provide a key for plaster on more challenging substrates.
Preparation
Before commencing the application, preparation is vital. Start the preparation by checking the surface, ensuring it's sound and stable. Afterwards, it needs to be cleaned from impurities that can hinder the adhesion, including dust, dirt, grease, oil, organic growth, etc. Surfaces may be damp, especially with porous and hot dry surfaces, as this optimised the adhesion, but with other surfaces, it reduces the performance.
Application
- Stir the product thoroughly before use
- Apply to the surface using a brush
- Apply the coat at a rate of 2m² per litre
- Allow the first coat to dry, and apply the second at the same coverage rate
Limitations and Notes
- This product should be stored between 5°C and 25°C
- Protect this product from frost in storage
- Uncured Cromaprufe can be removed by washing the area in warm, clean water
- Cure Cromaprufe will require physical scrapping of the surface and then the use of white spirit
(Please note that the application above is for waterproofing surfaces; please read the technical data sheet for other application processes.)
