Uses

The D4 Wood Adhesive by Everbuild is an excellent, market-leading, environmentally friendly alternative. Everbuild's technicians brewed this product using the latest hybrid resin technology, enabling a superb rate of bond strength development and its water resistance, which, compared to most, is excellent. Compared to other wood adhesives on the market, they typically cannot accept long exposure to water, but the D4 Wood adhesive is suitable for constant water immersion. Applications in which this product excels include general woodworking and joinery, RF/HF cure systems, wood-on-wood laminating and furniture assembly. Alternatively, if you are a D.I.Yer passionate about constructing with wood, this is perfect for you.

Preparation

You must prepare the surface before starting the application; prepare it by removing any contaminants that can interfere with the adhesion. These contaminants include dirt, oil, dust, grease, etc.

Application

  1. Apply the adhesive to both surfaces, only using a thin layer. It's important not to over-apply it as it'll slow the curing.
  2. Clamp the surfaces together until the adhesive dries. It will take up to 8 hours for it to fully cure.
  3. When fitting dowels, the adhesive should be applied to the holes.

Limitations

  • Ensure the wood doesn't contain excessive moisture (<15%)
  • This product is not suitable for load-bearing applications.
  • You should not apply this product below 10°C
  • Drying times are extended with lower temperatures.
  • Remove any excess glue to prevent glue lines, especially when clamping.
  • Ensure sufficient clamping pressure, which is especially important with radio frequency bonding.
  • This product should only be used for bonding small porous laminate strips. Do not use on non-porous or large areas of laminate.
  • Due to the nature of different wood, preliminary tests are recommended to understand how this glue affects the wood; discolouration may occur with specific woods.
