Description
Treat your windows properly with the 102 Butyl Glazing Compound from Everbuild. This resilient putty is particularly good for glazing with hardwood and softwood window frames, though it also works with metal frames. Not suitable for glazing with plastic window frames or window frames treated with microporous, decorative stains.
As with many other Everbuild products, the 102 Butyl Glazing compound combines user-friendly installation with great performance. The flexibility is particularly good, as a result of its elastic nature. This allows the 102 Butyl Glazing Compound to account for certain levels of thermal expansion.
Thermal expansion is where a material expands slightly when it is hot. Normally this is not important, but since different materials have different rates of thermal expansion this can cause damage. Most putties lack 102 Butyl Glazing Compound’s flexibility, which allows it to account for a certain level of thermal expansion.
Properties:
- Flexibility- accounts for a limited degree of thermal expansion
- User-friendly installation
- Good adhesion
- Cracking reduced by additional plasticiser
- Extended shelf life
