Everbuild 703 Fix & Grout Tile Adhesive - White 750g

703 Fix & Grout Tile Adhesive by Everbuild is the perfect tile adhesive with outstanding properties, preventing future problems such as mould growth or weak bonding with the tile. Suitable for application in various areas, this product has a high humidity resistance allowing bathroom and kitchen application.

Preparation

Plaster:

If the plaster on the wall is new, you must wait a minimum of 4 weeks before tiling, tiling onto the finishing coat only. Prime it with an Everbuild PVA diluted 1:3 with water.

Plasterboard/Plywood/Chipboard:

These must be braced with seasoned timber at 300mm vertically and horizontally. Use moisture-resistant grades; all surfaces and edges must be sealed with an SBR. Everbuild SBR diluted 1:4 with water works perfectly.

Sand/Cement Render:

Give 4 weeks for this mixture to dry on the surface before tiling; use a mix design of 3 - 4 parts sand to 1 part cement. Prime with Everbuild PVA.

Brickwork/Blockwork/Concrete Block:

Allow at least 4 weeks for drying time before rendering or plastering; do not fix directly to blockwork.

Existing Glazed Tile/Formica:

Use an abrasive sander to roughen the surfaces, and prime it with Everbuild PVA diluted to one part water.

Painted Surfaces:

This product is not recommended for direct application to emulsion or limewash paints. Remove loose material and prime with Everbuild PVA Mix diluted 1 to 4 parts water. For gloss paints, degrease the surface and score it with a knife. It will provide a key for the adhesive. Allow at least five days to dry before grouting.

Porous surfaces:

Like plaster, prime it with Everbuild PVA Bond diluted 1 to 3 with water and allow it to fully dry before tiling.

Application

As an adhesive:

Apply the adhesive to the wall at 3-6mm depth, ensuring you do not exceed or below that depth. Ensure you don't comb it more significantly than 1m² at a time.

If the surface is dry, use a notched trowel across the surface of the adhesive before placing the tiles into position; secure it with a slight twist action, which will remove any pockets of air.

If the surface is wet, do not use a notched trowel; feed the tiles directly into the surface of the adhesive and secure it with a slight twist to remove any air voids.

If you are still determining how the application is going, it is suitable to remove the tile and view how much adhesive is applied to the back of it whilst it's still wet; you need to ensure at least 75% coverage for complete adhesive application. Any surplus adhesive must be removed while wet with a damp cloth or sponge.

As a grout:

Apply by squeegee or sponge and work it well into the joints to ensure no void remains. This product is suitable for joint widths up to 6mm; allow the adhesive to dry from 24-72 hours before grouting. Allow the adhesive to dry 24-72 hours before grouting; depending on porosity, allow the grout to dry for 7 days before using the shower or bath.
