Uses
The Black Jack 907 Solar Reflective Paint by Everbuild is the ultimate roof-protecting coating utilising its bituminous-based aluminium coating, which achieves outstanding protection. This product is perfect for application in conjunction with various bituminous coatings. The 907 Solar Reflective Paint acts as an overcoat, prolonging the lifespan of the whole roofing system. You can apply this directly to primed metal walls and roofs, which achieve excellent protection, reducing heat absorption and potential air conditioning bills.
Preparation
All surfaces should be prepared to ensure the 907 Solar Reflective Paint achieves optimal results. Complete this by removing any contaminants on the surface that can hinder the performance of the product, including dirt, dust, grease, oil, etc.
Application
- The 907 Solar Reflective Paint must be stirred regularly at the start and throughout the application.
- You should apply two coats to the surface with either a mohair roller or a brush. Depending on the ambient temperature, there is a drying time of around 1 - 2 hours.
- If you're applying just a 907 Solar Reflective Paint to the bare surface of the roof, apply your first coat, and as soon as it dries, apply your second.
- If you're applying this product to a bituminous coating, you should allow a specific time, depending on the type of coating, before applying the 907. You should apply two thin coats to the surface, dispersing the Black bituminous colour; avoid any ponding and use a soft bristle brush using the lightest pressure
- Hot Applied Products - 6 Hours
- Water Based Coatings - 2 Weeks
- Solvent-Based Coatings - 3 Days
Limitations and Notes
- This product is not suitable for application where subsequent solvent contact is likely.
- Allow the Solar Reflective Paint to dry between coats.
- Avoid inhaling vapours when in confined spaces.
- This product should not be applied directly to expanded polystyrene.
- Stir well before use and regularly throughout the application.
