Uses
The Clear Fix by Everbuild is the ultimate adhesive product that every D.I.Yer and tradesperson needs to have in their arsenal for all bonding applications. This product has been formulated with a unique hybrid polymer composite, enabling its ability to adhere to virtually any surface and providing exceptional resistance to chemicals, weathering, water and much more. Due to these fantastic qualities, it's ideal for application internally and externally, without any concerns about its performance failing. Applications this product is typically applied in include;
- High-quality nail replacement adhesive, even for damp surfaces
- Bonding mirrors to most common substrates
- Jointing cladding panels
- Applications requiring a durable, high-performance bonding of joints
- Areas which need exceptional resistance to chemicals
Preparation
All surfaces must have any contaminants removed to ensure that optimal adhesion can be achieved. To achieve this, clean the surface, removing dirt, grease, oil, dust, etc. Please note that although you can apply this to damp surfaces, it weakens the Clear Fix's bonding strength and performance.
Application
- Cut the top of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the threaded screw.
- Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle with an opening to the required amount and screw it onto the cartridge.
- Place the cartridge into a suitable sealant applicator gun/tool.
- Point the tip of the nozzle to the surface and apply a bead to the surface, ensuring a thorough coverage which can be achieved through a zig-zag application.
- Bring the two surfaces together immediately and press firmly, compacting them together.
- If the surface you are bonding is heavy, use temporary support during curing.
- If bonding a mirror, you must provide temporary support using tape for at least 24-48 hours until the entire adhesive has dried and cured.
Limitations and Notes
- For overhead applications, always use mechanical fixings in conjunction
- For large mirrors, always use mechanical fixing in conjunction
- You must use temporary support during the curing process for heavy objects or items
- Areas of application that suffer from high temperatures or UV light may experience discolouration on the surface; this doesn't affect the performance of the adhesive.
- Do not seal mirror edges or plastic sheeting until the adhesive has cured
- This product should not be used on surfaces that bleed oils or plasticisers
- This product should not be used for structural glazing systems or the manufacturing of aquariums
- Do not use this product in conjunction with bitumen, asphalt, or undiluted bleach.
- This product is not suitable for use in or around chlorinated water.
