Uses

Everflex Heat-Mate Sealant by Everbuild offers a multitude of applications for industrial uses; it works well as a gasket sealant and can be used for joints and assemblies which must be resistant to high temperatures. These application areas include ducting, metal chimneys, industrial and domestic ovens, and other heat appliances.

Preparations

All surfaces must be prepared before commencing the application. Complete it by removing any contaminants that can hinder the adhesion; these include dust, dirt, oil, grease, old sealant and mastic. Highly porous surfaces such as new plaster should be primed before application.

Application

  1. Cut the top of the cartridge without damaging the threaded screw.
  2. Screw the nozzle onto the cartridge, and cut it at a 45° angle with an opening slightly larger than the gap to be filled.
  3. Apply firm, even pressure to the gun using a standard sealant gun, which will extrude the sealant with an even bead to enhance optimal adhesion.

Limitations

  • Do not use on porous surfaces such as brick, concrete and stone
  • This product is not suitable in conjunction with lead, bitumen or asphalt
  • Do not use soft metals such as lead or brass
  • On temperatures above +250°C, slight discolouration may occur, but the integrity of the sealant won't be affected.
  • This product is not suitable for above the temperature of 275°C.
