Uses

Weather Mate Gap Filler & Adhesive by Everbuild has an outstanding formula making it perfect for all roofing applications, and it can adhere problematic surfaces together whilst being a significant perimeter gap filling. You can use this product for jointing, cracks and gap filling with various surfaces.

  • Galvanized Steel
  • Timber
  • Guttering

  • Stone slates

Preparation

Prepare all surfaces before application, and remove all present contaminants that can interfere with the adhesion; this includes dust, oil, grease and similar impurities. Metal, aluminium and glass should be cleaned with a solvent-based cleaner to optimize the adhesion.

Application

  1. Using a standard sealant gun
  2. Cut the tip of the cartridge, and ensure you do not damage the threaded screw.
  3. Screw the nozzle onto the top of the cartridge and cut it at a 45° angle with an opening slightly larger than the gap to be filled.
  4. Apply to the surface, ensuring maintained pressure and keeping an even bead.
  5. Immediately tool down following the application, do this with a spatula or spoon with a soapy wet solution or an applicator tool.
  6. The product becomes tack free after 10-15 minutes and should be left to cure for 24 hours before painting.

Limitations

  • Not suitable for internal use
  • Do not use it for food preparation areas.
  • Do not use it in aquarium manufacture.
  • When used over bitumen or asphalt, staining may start to appear with the white and clear grades of this product, and it won't affect the adhesive properties.
