Soil extraction vents allow the air pressure in your plumbing to be neutralised. A positive air pressure can potentially flood your toilets, while a negative air pressure can suck the sealing water away and fill your house with noxious odours. Soil extraction vents allow both these highly unpleasant outcomes to be avoided.
