Ronseal One Coat All Surface Primer and Undercoat - White 250ml

Uses

The One Coat All Surface Primer and Undercoat by Ronseal allows you to apply this to a surface, preparing it and optimising it for further decoration. It is formulated by the Ronseal scientist with a unique, powerful formula that can transform the colour of the surface, offering you the ability to completely transform a room or area. Available in various sizes, you can apply this product onto all interior surfaces, such as;

Preparation

Due to the nature of this product, it can be applied onto every surface internally; however, you must prepare it appropriately to optimise the finish.

Preparing Wood: Sand the surface down using 120-grit sandpaper and brush it toward the woodgrain. Any excess dust that appears must be wiped down, and you must fill in any holes or cracks present.

Preparing Tiles: Clean the tiles using a bleach solution, and with the grout, apply a grout cleaner to clean it, wiping it all down afterwards with a damp cloth. Any damaged grout should be repaired during this process.

Preparing Cupboards: We recommend dismantling the cupboards off the walls to work on them effectively. Sand it down using 120-grit sandpaper, ensuring an even finish and wiping any loose dust afterwards. If there are any holes or cracks on the surface, you should fill them in using an appropriate filler.

Preparing Metals: This product isn't suitable for application over rust, so ensure you lightly sand it with a fine wet and dry sandpaper. You don't need to do this if you're painting galvanised metals. Any loose shavings should be wiped down using white spirit and a cloth.

Preparing PVCu: Lightly sand it down using 120-grit sandpaper. Afterwards, wipe it down using a damp cloth to remove any shavings.

Preparing previously painted surfaces: If the paint is in good condition, give it a light sand to optimise the surface. If the paint is peeling, flaking or cracking, sand it off and wipe down any loose dust with white spirit.

Application

1. Thoroughly stir the tin, mixing all the pigments.
2. Using a brush, apply the primer directly to the surface, and if the surface is wood, follow the woodgrain with your strokes.
3. After two hours, the surface will be ready for further decorating.

Aftercare

This product is a primer, and you should not leave it as a top coat. Instead, you should apply your decoration shortly after it's dried. If you notice any damage, you can fix it by lightly sanding the area and applying the paint again to the affected area. Clean any tools used with warm, soapy water.
