Uses
Stays White Ultra Tough Paint by Ronseal offers excellent protection and colour for your interior wood. This product uniquely stands out from the rest due to its unique formula, and it prevents paint from accidentally being scrapped, scuffed or knocked away. The pigment inside the colour is intense, offering the ultimate white finish that will illuminate and retain its glow. This product is designed for internal wood, doors and windows, but some metals will also take the paint.
Preparation
To achieve optimal results, you should follow the preparation accordingly to ensure you complete the application correctly. Firstly, if the surface is bare wood, you should sand it with 120 grit following the direction of the grain, as this will offer a smooth finish for the paint to stick to. If the wood has previously been painted, but the paint is still of good quality, lightly sand it with 120 grit, following the grain and apply an undercoat/primer. Any wood flaking, cracking or peeling must be sanded down completely so you can see the bare wood. After correctly sanding down the surface, you should clean it with white spirit and allow it to dry. If you have any knots in the wood that you don't want to show in the final outcome, you can use a knot blocker to stop it from showing through.
Application
- Stir the paint thoroughly, mixing the pigment correctly
- Using a synthetic brush, dip it into the paint and apply it onto the wood, brushing in the direction of the wood grain.
- Leave the first coat around 4 hours to dry
- Apply a second coat as you had done previously, and this coat will be suitable for touching in just 30 minutes.
Aftercare
Despite being ultra-tough, the colour of the paint is white and will show dirt, dust and other impurities, so ensure you clean it regularly to maintain the high-quality finish you've completed. Any areas that may experience damage can be rectified by sanding the spot down and applying a couple of coats of paint onto the affected area.
