The Evercryl by Sika is one of the sought-after products on the market. It delivers one of the best waterproofing coats available, instantly activating as soon as it's applied to the surface. Preparation
Before commencing the application, you must check the surface. You must remove contaminants on the surface, including impurities such as dirt, dust, grease, organic growth and debris.
Use a stiff-bristled brush to remove dirt, dust, debris and other contaminants from the surface. Remove any moss, algae or organic growth with a suitable cleaner before application.
Treat rusted areas with a rust-inhibiting primer to prevent further corrosion. Prime all non-bituminous, porous or friable surfaces before application to ensure Sika Evercryl bonds properly to the substrate.
Replace any severely damaged tiles, slates, sheets or other roofing materials before carrying out repairs. While Sika Evercryl can bridge small cracks and seal minor defects, it cannot repair broken tiles or extensive damage.
Application
- Stir thoroughly before using, ensuring all the pigment is mixed
- Using a brush, apply one coat at a rate of 1-2 litres per square metre
- In certain cases, you may need a second coat, which should be applied 2-3 days after the initial coat.
Limitations
- This product should not be applied in areas where subsequent solvent or oil contact is likely.
- Avoid inhaling any of the vapours
- Do not apply to Styrofoam or PVC foil
