Sikabond PVA - White 5 Litre

Uses

The PVA+ by SikaBond is a high-quality, high-performance product that provides exceptional bonding strength and assistance for various applications. It's crafted with a formula that includes a medium viscosity, polyvinyl alcohol stabilised, externally plasticised, vinyl acetate homopolymer. Applications this product is typically applied in include;

• As a high-strength, effective easy to use building adhesive
• Use as a bonding agent, sealer primer, admixture and dustproofer
• For application on a wide range of building areas
• As a general-purpose adhesive for cork, paper, wood, textiles, etc
• As an internal filler when mixed with plaster/shavings

Preparation

Preparation is straightforward with SikaBond PVA+. Simply ensure all surfaces to be bonded are dry, clean, and free from contaminants, including dirt, dust, grease, oil, etc. Remember to mix the SikaBond PVA+ before use, and you're good to go.

Application

General Bonding - This product can applied to neat for general bonding, providing the surface is porous.

Sealing and Priming - Apply to clean surface with 1 part PVA to 3 - 6 parts water and allow it to dry.

Bonding Absorbent Surfaces (Concrete/Plaster) - Prime the surface using the step above, then apply a bonding coat using 1 part PVA to 0.5 - 2 parts water; whilst the coat is still tacky, apply the plaster or screed.

Sealing Non-Absorbent Surfaces (Paint/Tiles) - Prime the surface using the above step, and then apply the paint/tile per the manufacturer's instructions.

Cement Admixture - Add 10L - 15L of SikBond PVA+ in place of the equivalent of gauging water per 50 kg of cement.

Applying Internal Patching Mortar and Screeds - Always apply cement screeds, render or plaster whilst the bonding coat is still tacky; if it dries, you must re-apply. To bond new screeds to old, prime and clean the surface with 1 part SikaBond PVA+ to 5 parts water and allow to dry. Then follow the steps above in the 'Bonding Absorbent Surfaces.'

Limitations and Notes

• This product is unsuitable for exterior applications
• As a wood adhesive, do not use it externally for load-bearing applications
