Uses
Fix ALL High Tack Hybrid Sealant by Soudal delivers excellent bonding properties in various applications. It has been crafted with a hybrid polymer based on the SMX-Polymer, providing an outstanding, high-strength grab with long-lasting application and resistance to weather and UV light. This product's typical areas of application include;
- Joints in bathrooms and Kitchens.
- Sealing and bonding in the construction industry
- Elastic structural bonding in the motor and container industry
- Elastic bonding of panels, profiles and other pieces on the most common substrates, typically found on a construction site or home.
Preparation
You should prepare the surface before commencing the application; otherwise, you'll not receive the optimal application this product can achieve. Remove any contaminants that can hinder this product's adhesion, including dust, dirt, grease and similar impurities.
Non-porous surfaces should be prepared with an activator or cleaner. Porous surfaces that are in water-loaded applications should be primed before application.
Application
- Cut the top cartridge, ensuring you do not damage the threaded screw.
- Screw the nozzle onto the cartridge, and cut it at a 45° angle with an opening slightly larger than the gap to be filled.
- Using a standard sealant gun, apply a firm, consistent pressure to the gun handle, allowing you to extrude an even consistent bead for optimal adhesion.
- After applying the sealant, tool down either using an applicator tool, slightly wetted spatula or wooden spoon.
Limitations
- Due to the wide choice of water-based paints, you should test the paint's compatibility before completing the entire project.
- If the application area is plastic or includes plastic in contact with this product, test the compatibility before.
- This product is not suitable to be used as a glazing sealant.
- Do not use this product in the manufacturing of aquariums.
- This product cannot be applied to natural stone.
- Discolouration may occur if in contact with direct, long UV exposure. This will not hinder its adhesive properties.
- Discolouration and loss of adhesion will occur if this product is used in areas where contact with bitumen, tar or plasticisers releases EPDM, neoprene, butyl, etc.
