Uses
Repair Express Plaster by Soudal is an excellent filling compound for various applications. Soudal brewed this product with a non-shrinking, high-speed curing compound, and this product is perfect for any D.I.Yer or Handyman who needs to repair holes and cracks quickly. Suitable for various surfaces, some of those which are suitable include;
- Plaster
- Plasterboard
- Concrete
- Stone
- Cellular concrete
- Masonry
Preparation
You should prepare the surfaces before applying; complete this by removing all contaminants that can hinder the adhesion. Highly Porous surfaces should be primed using a diluted version of this product. Dilute 1 part Soudal Repair Express Plaster to 2 parts water; use this solution to lightly coat the surface, optimising the adhesion. Any nail or screw heads should be covered in paint, and this is to prevent the rusting properties of these objects that can interfere with the Repair Express Plaster.
Application
- Cut the top of the cartridge, ensuring you don't damage the threaded screw.
- Screw the nozzle onto the cartridge, cut it at a 45° angle.
- Apply this product directly to the affected area using a standard sealant gun, ensuring a full cover.
- Use a wet spatula or trowel to tool down the product, leaving a bump on the surface, which can be sanded down to a smooth finish once cured.
- If the crack is large, complete it in two layers: apply one and leave it to cure, then apply the second.
Limitations
- This product is not suitable for application on damp areas or surfaces which will be constantly immersed.
- No suitable for external application
- This product is not eligible for expansion and dilatation joints
- If using highly filled paints, this can lead to the paint peeling.
