Uses
The Water Stop by Soudal is a fantastic repair solution for damaged roofs. It uses a solvent-based acrylate copolymer with synthetic fibres to securely bridge small cracks and damages. It's applied through a straightforward brush or, if it's raining, a spatula. Areas in which this product excels at repairing include roofs, gutters, cupolas, and general sealing of cracks and blisters. You may also use this to overlap large damages.
Preparation
Before commencing the application, ensure the surface is free from contaminants that can hinder the adhesion and performance of the product. Some of the impurities you need to eliminate include dirt, dust, grease, oil, loose debris, flaking material and organic growth. The best way to achieve this is by using a stiff brush, fungicide and a grease and oil remover. Very porous surface should be primed using the Water Stop diluted with 10-15% white spirit.
Application
- Any large damages to the surface should be filled using a Soudafalt or similar product.
- Use a brush or spatula (if applying underwater) and apply directly to the surface.
- If you need to apply more than one coat, allow eight days for the first to dry before applying the second.
