Roof sealants are some of the most important types of sealants. These sealants specifically protect against weather effects on joins and can help repair areas where damage has taken place. Even a single area of the roof that is not sufficiently waterproofed can be a real issue. Even a small amount of water that enters a house can cause rot and mould. Roof sealants help stop this problem before it ever becomes one.
Some types of sealant, like Cromapol and Acrypol are applied like paint. Made of dense fibres, they can be brushed on with a brush (though the brush in question will have to be disposed of afterwards). These are exceptionally versatile. They can help waterproofing and are second-to-none as an emergency measure if a roof has been damaged, to tide it over until it can be fully repaired. Waterproof paint can also be used to reinforce existing waterproofing.
Gutters are usually made of many individual parts. The joins between these parts and between the gutters and the fascia might require sealant to repair damage or reinforce seams. These sealants are often used with sealant guns for precise application. Like waterproof paint, they can also be used for temporary patch jobs on damage to keep a roof going until it can be properly repaired.
