This Bond It Gripbond Solvent Free Adhesive is ideal for bonding panelling, plasterboard, window sills, styrofoam, coving base, carpet tack strips, aluminium furring strips, tub surrounds, fireplace, loose floor/wall tiles, plywood, aluminium, steel, wood, concrete, cork, general repairs to timber, fixing hardboard, plywood and as a general adhesive. This shouldn't be used as an adhesive for building materials that bleed il, plasticiser or solvents.
At least one of the surfaces to be bonded has to be porous for this formula to work.
Application
Ensure that the surfaces to be bonded are free from dust, grease, oil and any other contaminants that can hinder adhesion, make sure it's clean and then dry.
- Use a standard sealant gun
- Cut the nozzle of the cartridge at a 45° angle.
- Apply the adhesive to the area
- Once applied, firmly press the two surfaces together to aid in the bonding
If you are planning to bond heavy panels, temporary mechanical support maybe be needed for at least 24 hours.
