Uses

Liquid Nails Solvent Free by Evo-Stik is ideal for various adhesive applications inside a building. Its unique formula allows it to adhere to most common building materials, with its cured adhesive suitable for sanding and overpainting. So, if you're tired of constantly repairing holes throughout the building, Liquid Nails is a perfect alternative. Some of the surfaces it can adhere to include;

Preparation

Before commencing the application, remove any contaminants on the surface that can interfere with the adhesion; these include the following: dust, dirt, oil, grease, paints and similar impurities. Metal surfaces must be degreased to allow the bonding to work, and new concrete or plaster should be allowed to dry thoroughly. Sound but very-porous surfaces, which are difficult to clean from light dust, should have a primer applied first.

Application

1. Cut the top of the cartridge, being careful not to damage the threaded screw.
2. Screw the nozzle onto the cartridge, cutting it at a 45° angle.
3. Apply a 6mm bead onto one of the two surfaces, ensuring good coverage in a zig-zag motion along the length.
4. Cover it thoroughly if it's a larger surface, with a bead around the edge and across approximately 400mm intervals.
5. Once the adhesive is fully applied to one of the surfaces, bring them together with a slight twisting motion; this helps secure the bond.
6. You may need to provide extra support for up to 24 hours to allow it to cure fully.

Limitations

• One of the application surfaces must be porous; if both surfaces are non-porous, this adhesive won't work.
• This product will not bond Polythene, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Plastics, Teflon, silicone rubber, nor is it suitable for bitumen.
