The Professional Special Primer by Isoflex is a robust formulated primer that seals virtually any surface. Crafted from high-grade urethane polymers, it cures into a robust yet flexible sealant. It has excellent penetrating and binding characteristics, allowing it to adhere to most exterior surfaces. Surfaces that this product can applied onto as a primer include;
- Brickwork
- Concrete
- Asbestos
- Wood
- Bituminous Roofing felt
- Tar Roofing felt
- Asphalt Roofing felt
- Plastic
- Glass fibre
- Tiles
- Metal (Both ferrous and non-ferrous)
Preparation
The surface should be sound and free from contaminants such as dirt, grease, etc, ensuring after it's dry. Any flaking paint should be removed, and powdery surfaces must be brushed and washed. Any rust or corrosion from metals should be removed, and you should abrade smooth metals, plastics and fibreglass surfaces. Allow 28 days for new concrete to dry out.
Application
- Stir the tin thoroughly before applying it.
- Using either a brush or spray, apply one generous coat to the surface, and if it's highly porous, apply two coats.
- The Isoflex Special Primer will cure into a tacky film in 2-4 hours, and you should look to apply the overcoat between the 4th hour or before the 48th hour since application.
Clean up
After completing the application, you should seal the tin shut so it's secure and safe. When cleaning any tools or surfaces (in case of spillages), you should use the Isoflex Clean-Up Fluid.
