Ronseal uPVC Paint - Black Satin 2.5L

Uses

The uPVC paint by Ronseals offers windows and doors that are made from uPVC another life. With it's long-lasting, durable formula, you only need to apply 2-3 coats to achieve the best results! Suitable for application with a brush, roller or spray, you can expect to cover up to 6.5m² per litre.

Preparation

Preparing for the application of this product requires several steps. First, you need to ensure the day that you're applying it is above 10°C, and this is because it can affect the drying times. Prepare the surface by washing it with warm, soapy water, leave it to dry thoroughly, observe the uPVC and complete any required remedial work. If the uPVC has previously had paint on it, which is still in good condition, give it a light, even sand. If it's fresh uPVC, lightly sand it to give it an even finish, using 180-220 grit sandpaper. If any cracks or flakes are on the surface, you need to sand it all off. Clean any dust, dirt or other contaminants lying around afterwards.

Application

1. Thoroughly stir the paint, mixing all the pigments
2. Using either a brush, roller or spray, apply the first coat and then leave it to dry for 2-4 hours.
3. If the base colour of the uPVC is dark, you may require a third coat.
4. Please note that the first coat will provide a waterproof layer and typically activates after an hour.

Aftercare

You should check it annually to ensure your uPVC is kept to a high standard. If you notice any blisters, scratches or cracks, sand it off and touch it with two coats. Clean your tools with warm, soapy water, and don't empty any leftover paint into drains or watercourses.
