Uses

ButyBand Flashing Tape by Soudal is an excellent product to seal areas of the roof securely, and it is formed with a high-quality butyl rubber that is protected with a layer of PET-reinforced aluminium. It can fill the connection joints around windows and doors and is suitable on surfaces such as;

• Glass
• Steel
• Plexiglas
• Polycarbonate
• Wood
• Aluminium
• PVC

Preparation

Before you apply this product, ensure that you prepare the surface to guarantee optimal adhesion. Remove any contaminants, including dust, dirt, oil, grease and similar impurities.

Application

Remove the protective foil evenly, pressing firmly onto the application area. Use a firm roller to ensure it's applied correctly and that no air bubbles, folds or other problems occur. This is because it affects this product's ability to adhere and protect against weathering. When overlapping two parts of this product, ensure it's at least 5cm.

Limitations

• Do not apply this product to frozen surfaces or surfaces with condensation.
• This product adheres through the impact of pressure applied, not by the duration. This is why a firm roller will aid in securely bonding the surfaces together.
