The Everflex 450 Builders Silicone by Everbuild is a fantastic, versatile silicone sealant that offers outstanding adhesion to various surfaces. Suitable not only for perimeter pointing but also for bonding two surfaces and filling expansion joints, it is an all-in-one product. Other unique features of this product are its ability to seal soft metals, general glazing sealing and draughtproofing.

Preparation

It's essential to correctly prepare the area for application before starting. Otherwise, you risk not having optimal results. You should clean the surface by removing any contaminants that can hinder the adhesion, including impurities such as dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.

Application

  1. Cut the top of the cartridge, ensuring you do not damage the threaded screw.
  2. Cut the top of the nozzle at a 45° angle and screw it onto the top of the cartridge.
  3. Place the cartridge into the standard sealant gun/applicator.
  4. For perimeter pointing, you should apply an even, continuous pressure along the gap. When bonding two surfaces, you should cover one surface with a zig-zag motion using the silicone and bring them together.

Limitations

  • You should not use this product in conjunction with bitumen, asphalt, neoprene and certain organic elastomers
  • This product is unsuitable to be used for aquarium manufacturing
  • Substrates that bleed oils or plasticisers shouldn't have contact with this product
  • This product is not suitable for paints to be applied over, nor is it applicable as a mirror adhesive.
