Ronseal Knot Block Primer & Undercoat - White 2.5L

Uses

The Knot Block Wood Primer and Undercoat by Ronseal offers the perfect product to seal knots from showing. This paint has a thick, white pigment that transforms the knot into a clear white coat, and this coat is perfect for further application due to its natural primer qualities. To achieve full results, you should apply two separate coats onto the knot, giving enough time to dry in between to hide the knot securely.

Preparation

Place dust sheets down over surfaces and objects you don't want the paint to spill onto accidentally. Using 120 grit sandpaper, lightly sand the wood down to an even finish; this aids the paint to adhere to the surface. If there are any loose, peeling or flaking bits on the wood, sand it all down to the bare wood. Let the dust settle and wipe it down using white spirit and a cloth. Any cracks or holes present should be filled with the appropriate filler.

Application

1. Stir the tin thoroughly, ensuring you mix the pigments
2. Dip your brush into the paint and apply it to the wood, brushing it with the grains of the wood
3. Wait 4 hours for the coat to dry
4. Apply the second coat, using the same method as the prior, brushing with the wood grains.
5. Wait another 4 hours for the paint to dry.

Aftercare

Any excess paint can be cleaned using warm, soapy water. Any damages that may occur over time can be easily repaired by sanding down the area and then applying another two coats to the affected area as you had done prior.
