Uses
The Flexacryl Instant Repair by Bostik is perfect for delivering exceptional waterproofing protection for flat roofs. It utilises a fibre-reinforced composite that helps bridge tiny cracks, gaps and slits. It's formulated with a powerful, potent formula requiring just one coat for optimal protection. Ideal for flat roofs, the biggest problem is ponding, which this product can resist the stresses of, making it suitable for use in gulleys and over cracks in edge details, vents upstands, and so much more!
Preparation
Before commencing the application, you should prepare the surface to ensure you achieve optimal results. Start by removing any contaminants that can interfere with this product, including small debris, loose paint, dirt, dust, grease, oil and organic growth, i.e. lichen, moss, etc. If the substrate is metallic, you should ensure if it's new that you degrease it with a suitable solvent; if it's rusting, use an appropriate rust-inhibitive primer, and any newly galvanised sheeting will need a primer applied. Lastly, any highly porous or friable surface should be primed as well.
Application
- Stir the tin thoroughly before using
- Use a standard, synthetic brush, applying the Flexacryl directly to the surface in a single uniform coat
- You should apply it at an even rate of 1kg to 2kg per m²
