Uses

The Soudalead PB by Soudal is a great product for use in various applications around a building. It's forged with a robust composite, which resists various elements, including rainfall, weathering, UV light and ageing. It's perfect for use in building joints with high movement, glazing and joint work, expansion joints in various substrates and sealing between PVC, treated wood, metal profiles and glass.

Preparation

Before using this product, you should prepare the surface to ensure that optimal results are achieved. Ensure that the surface is free from contaminants, including dirt, dust, grease, oil, organic growth, loose debris and flaking material.

Application

  1. Cut the top of the cartridge, taking care not to damage the threaded screw.
  2. Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle with an opening slightly larger than the gap to be filled.
  3. Place the cartridge into a suitable sealant applicator gun.
  4. Point the tip of the nozzle to the gap and apply a bead along the length.
  5. Tool down afterwards using an applicator tool or wooden spatula/spoon soaked in a soapy solution.

Limitations and Notes

  • This product should not be used on natural marble, bitumen, tar or surfaces that bleed plasticisers.
  • Discolouration can occur due to chemicals, high temperatures and UV rays.
  • This product is unsuitable for areas subject to constant water immersion
  • A total absence of sunlight can cause discolouration.
  • Acidic environments or dark areas can cause the white sealant to discolour, but this is reversed if exposed to sunlight.
  • Do not apply this product on polycarbonate surfaces.roof
