Cromapol, Cromar’s number one waterproof paint, is an extremely versatile substance that is ideal for reinforcing other roofing layers or doing emergency repairs. It can even be used in wet conditions and will protect even before it cures.Â
Cromapol has many uses, whether that’s being proactive by giving your roof an extra layer of waterproofing or reactive by repairing cracks and gaps. If you want to get the most out of your Cromapol, keep the following things in mind:
Use disposable brushes
The fibrous qualities of Cromapol mean that any brush used to apply it will be permanently unusable afterwards. In order to spare your high quality brushes, use a cheap disposable brush like the ones we sell at ERoofing so that it can take one for the team.
Use Cromar CP Primer
One of the few materials that Cromapol doesn’t stick to properly is bitumen. This means that using Cromapol on something like damaged shed felt is difficult, even though otherwise this would be an ideal use for Cromapol. However, there is a solution – using Cromar’s CP Primer, which allows Cromapol to stick to any bituminous material.Â
Use it quickly on roof leaks
Cromapol begins protecting right from the moment it’s been painted on. That means if you know you have a roof leak and are comfortable working on a ladder and roof you can slap some over that leak once you find where it is. It doesn’t have to be pretty, it just needs to seal the leak to give time for real professionals to fix it properly. A quick seal means that the inside of your house will be protected from damaging rainwater in the meantime.
Use it to protect against heat
Cromapol doesn’t just defend against water but even the heat of the sun itself. It is UV resistant, which makes it an excellent tool for coating non-UV resistant materials. If your flatroof isn’t UV resistant a lick of Cromapol can fix that immediately.
