10mm Polycarbonate Sheets
10mm polycarbonate sheets are the heaviest doublewall sheeting. They are similar in structure to 4mm and 6mm sheeting but their superior size and weight means they are no longer limited to the smallest installations.Â
In fact, 10mm polycarbonate sheets are probably the most versatile polycarbonate sheeting. They can be used in pavilions, gazebos, arbors, pergolas, as well as the more obvious greenhouses and summer houses. They really open up a lot of options in terms of what you can put in your garden. Older conservatories used to have 10mm sheets installed as the main roofing, though nowadays much thicker sheets like 25mm would be used instead.
Since they don’t crack from being cut and are resistant to heat, polycarbonate sheeting can be cut to measure with a home saw. Circular saws are best but jigsaws can be used on shorter lengths like 10mm too. For best results safety goggles should be worn and glue clamps should be used to secure the sheets in place. Always remember to take proper safety precautions with saws.
