Uses

The Fill & Skim by Everbuild is an excellent, high-quality, high-performance patching plaster that's ideal for D.I.Yers or tradespeople who need to complete a quick repair without the hassle of mixing a whole plastering batch. This ready-mixed formula is perfect for these situations as it delivers a gap-filling plaster that won't shrink, crack or sag all in one tub! Applications this product is typically applied in include;

  • Covering textured paint surfaces, restoring old pitted, uneven plastered walls and ceilings in just one application
  • Internal repairs over wood, brick, stone, plaster and rendering
  • It is ideal for electricians, joiners, plumbers and general builders.

Preparation

The surface should be clean, dry, sound and free from loose materials or mould. Any friable surfaces should be treated with a stabilising solution and allowed to dry. Any nail or screw heads should be coated in an oil-based primer. Any stain marks should be treated with a stain blocker. Glossy surfaces should be rubbed down to provide a key, and any holes larger than 25mm should have a suitable filler used before.

Application

  1. Stir the product before using; if it's too dry, add a few water droplets and stir until a smooth paste is achieved.
  2. Using a suitable spatula or blade, scoop the Fill & Skim, applying it directly to the surface at a rate no greater than 0.5m².
  3. Using a smoothing trowel, smooth out the Fill & Skim, ensuring ridges are smooth and flat with the rest of the surface.
  4. Any bumps that may occur can be sanded down afterwards to achieve a flush finish.
  5. If you're filling gaps, you can achieve up to 25mm gap filling in one application; if the gap is more significant, you must use an alternative filler.

Limitations and Notes

  • Do not use this product in areas that are subject to continuous water immersion.
  • Do not use this product externally or for structural repairs.
  • Do not allow it to make contact with water within 24 hours of application.
  • Absorption of the paint on the filler may be different to surrounding areas; apply extra coats to the area to ensure it's covered.
