Uses

The Ronseal Interior Varnish - Matt 250ml offers your surface the ultimate protection. Using its diamond-hard formula, it cures into a robust, long-lasting shield. With its easy-to-apply application, the most novice of D.I.Yer can easily apply this product to an outstanding level, making it accessible to everyone. Preparation

Please note that this product can be applied onto bare and previously varnished wood but not painted. You should clean the surface from contaminants such as dirt, oil and grease using White Spirit and a cloth. After, sand the surface to an even finish using 120-grit sandpaper, removing any old varnish, etc. Let the dust settle and wipe it away with a damp cloth, leaving the wood to thoroughly dry before varnishing.

Application

1. Stir the varnish thoroughly, ensuring you smooth out any lumps.
2. Apply the wax to the surface using a brush, stroking it into the wood following the woodgrains.
3. Give it about an hour to dry, then apply a 2nd coat. If this is the last coat you intend to do, lightly sand the surface before applying it. It is the same for the 3rd coat; if that's the last one you intend to do, sand it down slightly, then apply it for an optimal finish.

Aftercare

After your final coat has dried, you can clean your wood like normal. Ensure you remove any contaminants regularly that can harm the surface and your hard work. If there is damage on the surface, lightly sand the area down and then reapply a couple of coats.
