Uses
The Trade Expanding Foam by Soudal is the ultimate general-purpose expanding foam for tradespeople or DIYers. It offers outstanding filling capacity, with the most common surface suitable for adhering. With its fantastic acoustic and thermal properties, its value as an expanding foam outweighs competitors. It can be used internally and externally but is typically applied during the installation of windows, filling in voids and sealing openings in roof constructions.
Preparation
Due to the nature of the expanding foam, it doesn't require too much preparation. However, good practice would be to take a stiff brush and sweep the surfaces, removing any small debris present. Any organic growth should be eradicated using a fungicide, and any oil, grease, dirt, dust, etc, should be removed.
Application
- Shake the can thoroughly for at least 20 seconds.
- Securely fit the nozzle to the can and hold it upside down to apply
- Slightly moisten the surface with a water sprayer to enhance the curing speeds.
- Hold the can upside down and fill 1/3 of the void, allowing the expanding foam to fill the rest.
- If you require another layer, allow the first to dry, slightly moisten the surface and apply a second load of expanding foam.
Limitations and Notes
- Any cured expanding foam will have to be mechanically removed.
- Any uncured expanding foam can be cleaned away using a damp cloth.
- Moisten the surface to enhance the curing speed.
