Uses

The Trade Multi-Purpose Silicone by Soudal is an excellent sealant suitable for various rooms in a home. It has remarkable resilience to humidity, offering significant application areas such as connection joints between the wall and bath or shower bases. It is an acetoxy silicone sealant suitable for internal and external applications, with it being able to adhere to most surfaces found around a house.

Preparation

Before applying this product, you should remove contaminants on the surface which can interfere with the adhesion. If the surface is porous, it's recommended to prime it first to enable optimal adhesion.

Applications

1. Cut the top of the cartridge, ensuring you do not damage the threaded screw.
2. Screw the nozzle onto the cartridge and cut it at a 45° angle
3. Using a standard sealant gun, apply this product directly to the surface
4. Tool down afterwards, using a soapy solution; however, ensure you do not allow the soapy solution to touch either surface as it can hinder the adhesion; only apply it directly to the sealant.

Limitations

• This product is not suitable for certain metals such as copper and lead
• Natural stones, like marble and granite, will cause discolouration and shouldn't have this product applied to them.
• The total absence of UV can cause discolouration of the sealant.
• Application during full sunlight isn't ideal as it can cause the curing speed to accelerate faster than it should.
• This product is unsuitable for application on polycarbonate or areas in continuous water immersion.
